Application and placement

Guardians who need a place in preschool must make an application. In the application, enrollment time must be calculated at the desired start date. It is assumed that guardians participate in the schooling of their child. Enrollment and fees are charged from the start date of placement.

If the application concerns placement for children who need special support in their development or the child's own needs due to the family's situation in general, the application must be supported by a certificate from, for example, a psychologist, doctor or other authority.

In the case of joint custody, both custodians must accept the offer for the allocation of a place. In the event of alternating accommodation, both guardians must have a place, if both have a need for childcare. If it is an individual custodian, this is the one who accepts the offer to be allocated a place.

When the guardian accepts an offer, it means that the guardian also accepts the decided rules for placement in preschool.

If the guardian does not respond to the place offer within the specified time and after a reminder, the application will be removed.

Guardians who have agreed to a place pay for the place 12 months a year, leave, vacation, illness. In case of prolonged illness, special rules apply according to chapter 15.5.

Guardians are responsible for providing a schedule for the child's stay and current income information in connection with accepting the offer.

Queue management

If there is not room for all applicants, selection shall be made in the following order:

1. Children who are placed in a preschool unit that closes.

2. Children with priority according to ch. 8 Section 7 of the School Act.

3. Children with sibling priority means priority to the preschool where the sibling is placed. On the same queue date, older children go before younger ones, based on the birth date of the placed sibling.

4. Children who live in or move to the catchment area are placed by queue date.

5. Children who live in another catchment area are placed according to queue date.

Queue date refers to the date when the application has been received. If the application is received earlier than 4 months before the desired date for a place, the queue date will be adjusted.

The new queue date will then be 4 months before the desired placement.
If there are several applications with the same queue date for the same preschool, the children are placed by date of birth. This means that the oldest child gets the place first.
